Evan Street Residence

This beautiful big Queenslander house on a large sized block in suburban West Mackay had lots of room for the growing family but the bathroom downstairs needed a new look and the upstairs Master bedroom and ensuite required a complete overhaul. Beginning downstairs, the family bathroom was gutted. Out with the old and in with the new. The existing maroon coloured traditional free standing bath was replaced with a more modern and timeless white bath. The free standing timber, single basin vanity was removed and replaced with a custom designed classical white vanity with double basins. A big mirror with a white 2-pac frame was placed above and finished with traditional wall mounted mirror lights. A dark charcoal floor created a strong base for the white finishes and fixtures. A large mirror with an embossed tin frame was hung above a vanity shelf to complete the space. Upstairs, the works were more extensive. The existing ensuite was at the back of the house and although it was a bathroom that had been installed in fairly recent times, it was small and had no natural light. However, the existing bedroom and connecting hallway through to the ensuite boasted beautiful stained glass windows with fuscia & aqua tones. After sketching a few options on the drawing board, we worked out a plan to maximise the available space. By knocking down a wall between the long narrow hallway/wardrobe, between the bedroom & ensuite, and the hallway on the other side, a space was created to house the new bedroom. This way, an existing pair of beautiful stained glass french doors became the entrance to the new bedroom. And the ensuite which was at the back of the house was relocated to the front of the house, giving the space lots of natural light and plenty of space to make a feature of a new free-standing bath. Upon investigation, we discovered another window in the previous ensuite giving the new walk-in wardrobe plenty of natural light. Design by BOLD Interiors.  Construction was completed by Watco Constructions.

Thank-you to the BOLD team for creating an amazing space for the grown-ups (and a couple of puppies). We are loving our new bath.
